ZXMOTO 500RR
ZXMOTO 500RR Lightweight Inline-Four Supersport Performance
The ZXMOTO 500RR is not simply a fully-faired version of a middleweight road bike. It has been developed as a focused supersport motorcycle, combining a screaming 470cc inline-four engine, lightweight 168kg chassis, sophisticated rider electronics and adjustable suspension with aggressive race-inspired styling.
Producing 62kW approximately 84hp at 13,500rpm, the 500RR delivers the kind of high-revving four-cylinder character that has become increasingly difficult to find in the middleweight motorcycle category.
ZXMOTO claims acceleration from 062mph in just 3.4 seconds and a maximum speed of 235km/h approximately 146mph. Combined with a kerb weight of only 168kg, those figures place the 500RR firmly in serious sports-bike territory.
Available from Biking Direct with motorcycle finance options and nationwide UK delivery, the ZXMOTO 500RR provides an exciting alternative for riders who want genuine four-cylinder supersport character without moving to a much larger motorcycle.
470cc High-Revving Inline-Four Engine
The centrepiece of the ZXMOTO 500RR is its 470cc inline four-cylinder engine.
The liquid-cooled power unit uses double overhead camshafts and 16 valves, together with a high 12.9:1 compression ratio. Maximum output is 62kW (84hp) at 13,500rpm, while maximum torque of 46Nm arrives at 11,500rpm.
Those numbers tell you a lot about the personality of this motorcycle. Rather than concentrating all of its performance low in the rev range, the 500RR is designed to rev. Riders who enjoy working through the gearbox and exploring the upper reaches of an engine’s rev range are exactly who this motorcycle is aimed at.
The distinctive sound and exceptionally smooth delivery of an inline-four are a major part of the appeal too. In a market increasingly dominated by parallel twins, the 500RR offers something genuinely different.
BOSCH Fuel Injection & Slipper Clutch
Fuelling is handled by a BOSCH electronic fuel injection system, helping provide accurate fuel delivery and consistent throttle response.
The engine is paired with a wet multi-plate slipper clutch. During aggressive downshifts, the slipper system helps reduce excessive engine braking being transferred to the rear wheel, allowing smoother corner entry and helping maintain chassis stability.
It’s exactly the type of equipment you want on a motorcycle designed to be enjoyed on fast roads and track days.
062mph in a Claimed 3.4 Seconds
ZXMOTO quotes a 0100km/h (062mph) acceleration time of just 3.4 seconds.
That’s an impressive figure for a 470cc motorcycle and demonstrates the advantage of combining 84hp with a kerb weight of just 168kg.
ZXMOTO describes the acceleration as competitive with 600cc-class sports motorcycles, making the 500RR a particularly interesting option for riders looking for a compact supersport with genuinely exciting straight-line performance.
6-Axis IMU & Cornering ABS
Performance is only useful if the rider can control it, and this is where the electronics package becomes particularly important.
The ZXMOTO 500RR features a 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) working alongside its cornering ABS.
An IMU continuously monitors the motorcycle’s movement and attitude. This allows the electronic systems to understand much more than simply wheel speed including how the motorcycle is leaning and moving dynamically.
Cornering ABS can then take this information into account when managing braking intervention, providing a more sophisticated safety system than conventional straight-line ABS.
For everyday riders this provides an additional layer of reassurance. For enthusiastic riders, it allows the electronic systems to work more intelligently when the motorcycle is being ridden dynamically.
Fully Adjustable 41mm Inverted Front Forks
The 500RR uses 41mm inverted front forks with fully adjustable preload and damping.
Adjustability allows riders to tailor suspension behaviour to suit their weight, riding style and environment. A road rider may prefer a more compliant setup, while someone taking the motorcycle onto a circuit can configure a firmer, more controlled setup for harder braking and faster direction changes.
Importantly, the rear suspension is also described by ZXMOTO as fully adjustable, giving the 500RR a much more complete suspension package than motorcycles where adjustment is restricted to basic rear preload.
Lightweight 168kg Chassis
Weight is one of the 500RR’s strongest assets.
At just 168kg kerb weight, the motorcycle combines its 84hp engine with a genuinely lightweight chassis.
The frame uses an integrated steel trellis diamond design, paired with an aluminium-alloy single-sided swingarm.
Forged footpegs help reduce weight further, while the compact 2,005mm overall length and 1,395mm wheelbase contribute to the motorcycle’s agility.
Clip-on handlebars provide the focused riding position expected of a supersport motorcycle, while an 800mm seat height keeps the physical dimensions relatively manageable.
Adjustable Chassis Geometry
One particularly interesting element of the 500RR specification is its chassis adjustability.
ZXMOTO states that the motorcycle features adjustable rake and anti-squat angles, allowing geometry to be fine-tuned for different riding conditions.
That’s a feature normally associated with considerably more specialised performance motorcycles and reinforces the track-focused thinking behind the 500RR.
TAISKO Four-Piston Braking System
The 500RR backs up its performance with serious braking hardware.
At the front are dual 300mm floating brake discs working with TAISKO four-piston opposed calipers. At the rear is a 220mm disc with a TAISKO two-piston opposed caliper.
ZXMOTO quotes a best braking distance of 37 metres, while the 6-axis IMU and cornering ABS provide additional electronic support.
The result is a braking package designed not simply for everyday road riding, but for the repeated hard braking associated with fast riding and track use.
High-Grip CST S5 Semi-Slick Tyres
The 500RR runs on 17-inch cast aluminium-alloy wheels with a 120/70-17 front tyre and wide 180/55-17 rear tyre.
ZXMOTO specifies CST S5 high-grip semi-slick tyres, chosen to provide strong cornering grip and feedback.
Combined with the adjustable suspension, lightweight chassis and electronic rider aids, the tyre package contributes to the 500RR’s focus on precise, confidence-inspiring handling.
A Proper Supersport Riding Position
The ZXMOTO 500RR isn’t pretending to be a sports bike while retaining conventional commuter-bike ergonomics.
Its clip-on handlebars, compact dimensions and rider-focused chassis place the rider in a purposeful supersport position designed to provide control and feedback during enthusiastic riding.
At the same time, an 800mm seat height and relatively low overall weight mean the motorcycle remains physically manageable compared with many larger sports machines.
Modern Digital Display & Full LED Lighting
The cockpit features a clear modern digital instrument display, designed to present essential riding information without distracting the rider.
A complete LED lighting system includes the headlights, rear lighting and indicators, providing good visibility while complementing the aggressive modern bodywork.
Designed for Road and Track
The specification of the 500RR makes its intentions clear.
The combination of a high-revving 84hp inline-four engine, lightweight chassis, slipper clutch, adjustable suspension, semi-slick tyres, twin front discs, 6-axis IMU and cornering ABS makes this much more than a motorcycle designed simply to look sporty.
It has genuine performance hardware underneath the bodywork.
For road riders, that translates into a responsive, exciting motorcycle for weekend riding and fast country roads. For riders interested in track days, the suspension and chassis adjustability provide scope to configure the motorcycle for more focused use.

Why Buy the ZXMOTO 500RR?
The ZXMOTO 500RR offers something increasingly rare: a relatively small, lightweight motorcycle with a genuinely high-revving inline-four-cylinder engine.
But the engine isn’t carrying the rest of the motorcycle. The 500RR backs up its 84hp performance with a 168kg kerb weight, 6-axis IMU, cornering ABS, fully adjustable suspension, single-sided aluminium swingarm, TAISKO brakes, semi-slick tyres and adjustable chassis geometry.
For riders who miss the excitement of high-revving four-cylinder supersports or younger riders who have never had the opportunity to experience one the ZXMOTO 500RR is a fascinating new option.
Combine that with finance options, nationwide UK motorcycle delivery and Biking Direct’s dealership and workshop support, and the 500RR becomes a very compelling addition to the middleweight sports-bike market.
