Commemorating the commendable successes of AJS’s USA Sales Manager Mike Jackson – in the November 1971 Barstow to Vegas, District 37, Mojave Desert race.
A line-up of some 3,200 riders, faced a gruelling 190 mile course that included such hazards as deep sand, steep dunes, a snowy mountain pass, millions of rocks and out-of-control fellow competitors!

Based on the AJS Cadwell/Tempest platform the ’71 Desert Scrambler will be sure to thrill and inspire you with every twist of the throttle.

Delivery times are quoted after the vehicle has completed the PDI process and passed our thorough additional checks. At Biking Direct we understand you cant wait for your new bike to arrive which is why we aim to keep most models and colour options in stock at all times. During busy periods we may temporarily run out of a particular item, although we are quick to replenish out of stock items this can add a few days (especially over weekends) to the turnaround period. All brand new vehicles are required by law to be registered prior to delivery. The only exception to this rule is on the condition you are purchasing the vehicle to use on private property. The new vehicle will arrive at your door ready to ride, fully assembled, comprehensive safety check, road taxed, registered with the DVLA, 3 years MOT, full tank of fuel, L plates, Number Plate and thorough road test.
