Biking Direct – Returns & Refunds Policy

Last updated:

We want you to be completely happy with your purchase. This Returns & Refunds Policy explains how to return goods, vehicles, or report a fault in line with your consumer rights.

1. Returns for Clothing, Accessories & Parts

  • You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the day you receive your order to request a return or exchange.
  • Items must be:
    • Unused and in their original condition
    • In the original packaging with all tags and labels attached
    • Returned with your invoice number and a short note explaining the reason for return
  • Returns must be sent via a tracked delivery service at your own expense, unless the item is faulty or we have made an error.
  • Once received and inspected, refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–7 working days.

2. Faulty or Incorrect Items

If you believe your item is faulty or incorrect, please contact us before returning it.

Email: info@bikingdirect.com — include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos if possible.

We’ll provide a returns authorisation number and advise you on the best courier service. If the item is confirmed faulty, you’ll receive a full refund or exchange plus the cost of return postage.

3. Helmet Returns

For safety reasons, helmets cannot be returned or exchanged once they have been delivered — unless found to be faulty upon arrival.

This policy protects all customers, as we cannot guarantee that a returned helmet hasn’t been dropped or damaged internally. Even minor, invisible impacts can compromise its protective integrity.

Please ensure you select the correct size and model before purchasing. Our team is always happy to help with fitting or sizing advice before checkout.

4. Vehicle Returns & Cancellations

Before Delivery

  • If you cancel your vehicle purchase after registration but before delivery, a £200 administration and registration fee will be deducted to cover DVLA registration and preparation costs.
  • For financed vehicles, cancellation will only proceed once the V5 is returned and the fee is received.

After Delivery

  • Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you may return a vehicle within 30 days of delivery if a major fault develops that cannot be repaired within a reasonable time.
  • If you intend to return a vehicle, you must stop using it immediately once the return process begins. Continued use may affect eligibility for a refund or inspection.
  • The vehicle must be in good condition. Reasonable wear and tear will be accepted at our discretion.
  • You are responsible for the cost of returning the vehicle. We can arrange professional collection for £165, payable in advance.
  • Vehicles used for more than 30 days or 500 miles are considered accepted and no longer eligible for return.

5. Non-Returnable Items

  • Helmets (for safety reasons)
  • Custom-ordered or special-order parts not usually stocked
  • Gift cards or vouchers

6. Refund Processing

  • Once your return is received and inspected, you’ll receive an email confirming approval or rejection of your refund.
  • If approved, your refund will be processed automatically to your original payment method.
  • Refunds typically appear within 5–7 working days, depending on your payment provider.
